6 Signs That You’re Doing A Great Job (Even Though Your Boss Doesn’t Say It)

Day in and day out, you show up for work. Day in and day out, you put in the strongest effort that you can pull from yourself. You sit at home every Friday and think to yourself, nobody notices the work that I do. You try so hard to impress your boss but constantly get overlooked when it comes to workplace praise. What do you do? Maybe you’re not doing as well at work as you thought you were.

Earlier this week, I was reading an article on Inc. that dealt with this very topic. Peter Economy shares with us six signs that we are doing well at work, even though your boss doesn’t say it. I would encourage you to click on the link provided and read the article. However, for the main points of the article, I have put together the list for you below.

6 Signs That You’re Doing A Great Job (Even Though Your Boss Doesn’t Say It)

Your projects are talked about

You’ve been receiving more tasks

You receive constructive criticism

You are praised, though rarely

You communicate often, and with good feedback

You maintain a positive energy

You know, it’s not always easy to read other people. There are many times that we make assumptions about people that end up being way off base simply because we are not getting a good read on them. With this in mind, be careful when you are assessing how your boss perceives you. They may think you are doing a fantastic job and just do not verbalize it.

A good point….

Peter Economy reminds us that “if you’re not sure how you’re doing and your boss hasn’t said anything in a while, just ask. You just might be surprised at what he or she has to say (in a good way).”

However, maybe you really are working super hard in a job where you simply are not appreciated for your work. If that is the case, you’re probably spending most of your days dreaming of doing something else. Do not be that person. Set goals. Go back to school. Get a new job. Make better choices with your money. Don’t be sucked into foolish endeavors. Do something.

Life is Strange. Live it Well.
