My family and I have spent a LOT of time on the road over the past three or four years. Between trips to Atlanta, GA and Corpus Christi, TX, we had logged a considerable amount of travel time and that was before we decided to move out to Virginia. One thing that has always amazed me is how well my kids handle long trips. It is not a problem for either of them to put in 5 to 6 hours of a trip before they begin complaining about how long the drive is. However, I know that is not the case for everyone.
A few days ago, I was reading this article on Tourist Meets Traveler that provides six suggestions on ways to make that dreaded car ride easier. If you are like me and spend a significant amount of time on the road, these tips could come in extremely handy when it comes to entertaining the passengers in your car. Maybe you’re considering where to go (a lot of the places in that link cannot actually be driven to from the US) on your summer vacation but you’re worried about the drive being too long. This could be helpful.

So, there you have it. I would encourage you to click on the link if you would be interested in a more detailed description of the list. Have you tried any of these before? We are a big fan of car games and frequently find ourselves playing the alphabet game and the license plate game to pass time.
For that matter, in less than a month, we will be packing up and heading out to Illinois for a couple of weeks. I’m sure that I will be coming back to this list as that trip approaches. What about you? What do you do on long trips?
