Are you a virtuous individual? When your life is examined, what will people say about you? What does it mean to have virtue? Dictionary.com states that virtue is conformity of one’s life and conduct to moral and ethical principles. Scripture tells us that when Jesus was walking the streets of Jerusalem, a woman touched his robe and virtue flowed from him.
Plato, who is widely considered to be the greatest of all philosophers, asks the question “can virtue be taught? Or is it not teachable but the result of practice, or is it neither of these, but men possess it by nature or in some other way?”
This will be a short post today. I just wanted to hit on one thought.
When you are among your peer group, do you give them a reason to question your morals? Are your decisions ever questionable? Are there times when you tend to shy away from what is generally considered to be ethical? Or, when people find themselves discussing virtue, morality and ethical living, do their minds immediately turn towards you?
I have known men (and women) who I consider to be incredibly virtuous. They are not nearly as numerous as what this world needs them to be. Most of us would love to be considered as virtuous but fall short in some fashion.
What about you? What do people say about your life? What will be written about your decisions when all is said and done?
Life is Strange. Live it Well.
