I am sitting at my kitchen table looking out the window. No leaves… brown grass… Yuck! Winter is definitely not for me, no matter where in the world I live.
Last week, I was outside with a t-shirt on. It was nice out. Nice and warm. I remember talking to one of my boys about it on the way to the bus stop one morning. He made the comment about how warm it was and how it seemed like winter could be over. I quickly reminded him that it was still only January and that the cold weather, unfortunately, would return.
And, it has.
Rumor has it that snow is on the way to Virginia again. Man, I hate snow so much. Don’t get me wrong, it is beautiful up here in the mountains when the snow covers everything. However, it has already done that once this winter so there’s no need to get crazy.
In the past two years, we have been to the beach six different times. I love the feel of the ocean water on my feet. I love the burning sensation of the sun cooking my shoulders. It is so much better than the bitter cold of winter. Do you agree?
As I am typing this, I am reminded that many parts of our country have had quite a bit more snow and cold than we have here and I should be grateful. As we were leaving St. Louis to come back from Christmas vacation, it had begun to snow. It took us until we were about halfway across Illinois before we were clear of it. Yuck!
You’re probably thinking, “What’s the point, Zach?” And to that, I say, “There really isn’t one.” I don’t have anything useful to say today. No financial pointers or parenting tips. I don’t even have anything humorous to post. I’m just looking out the window and dreading tomorrow.
I’m so ready for warm weather.
Life is Strange. Live it Well.
