Adventures in Parenting takes us into the life of an individual or couple who are currently (or have been) parents in order to get an idea of how they navigate their way through the process of raising up their children. So, here’s how this works. This week’s guests are Chuck and Adrien McFadden. I have provided them with a list of 25 or so questions of which they were instructed to choose five. This will serve as an interview of sorts with the conversation being, for the most part, of their choosing. Continue reading “Adventures in Parenting – Chuck & Adrien McFaddon”
Some people seem to float through life without even the slightest bit of difficulty or adversity in their way. Or, at least that is how it seems. Everything just seems to fall into their laps. For the rest of us, obstacles (and the ability to move past them) have become a part of our daily lives. Most of us learn lessons from these obstacles that makes it easier the next time we are faced with them.
Today is not the first time that I have featured a video from Brother’s Green Eats. I have previously featured their videos here and here. Their content is incredibly interesting, especially for someone who has taken an interest in ways to eat on a budget. This is another piece of their content that focuses on just that. In this video, Josh Greenfield explains how he managed to go an entire year without spending even a single penny on food. Continue reading “He Didn’t Buy Food For A Year”
Over the past couple of years, a handful of you readers has expressed an interest in taking up writing (or renewing old writing projects) as a result of my content. Some of you have even taken on the joy of creating a blog for yourself, which is awesome. Because of this, I am always on the lookout for content that can push along that joy a little further. One of the boys in my house is a huge basketball fan. Scratch that, he is a HUGE fan of Lebron James. However, he watches pretty much anything NBA related. So, over the past couple of years, I have gotten back into pro basketball as a connecting point between he and I. One of the things that we really enjoy is watching compilation videos of NBA players.
A couple of days ago, we sat down and watched this entire 40-minute compilation of this season’s Shaqtin’ A Fool. For those who are not familiar, Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and a couple of other dudes show videos of truly boneheaded NBA plays from each week of the season.
I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Life is Strange. Pro athletes mess up too. Live it Well.
So, for the last two days, I have blogged about our adventure to Williamsburg. I’ve written about the Powhatan Resort where we stayed while we were there. I have covered our trip to the Jamestown Settlement and everything that we got to see at that location. Today, I’m going to take a look at Yorktown. Continue reading “Williamsburg, Part Three – Yorktown”
OK, so yesterday I went over our first day at the Powhatan resort. For as much fun as we had that first night, it paled in comparison to the day that we had before us. For that matter, I will take two full days of blogs just to unpack everything that we did on the second day of our trip. Continue reading “Williamsburg, Part Two – Jamestown Settlement”
Recently, at our place of employ, we have switched our work schedule. Typically we work a seven on four off schedule but have recently switched (voluntarily) to a schedule that only provides us with a couple of days off instead. What this means for us is that we have to be a little more deliberate about what we do with our downtime. Continue reading “Williamsburg, Part One – Powhatan Resort”
