My babies

I know, I know, I know….

They’re not really babies anymore. Sydney is getting ready to turn 12 and Caleb is 7 already. What is going on here? Is this really happening? How are both of my children this old?

In six more years, Sydney will be heading off to college (potentially).

When we stepped away from residential care work last year and moved back to Illinois, part of the reason was so that we could focus more on our own children. Now, I feel like that time is going to be way too short.

But, you make the best of it. The next six years in a home that we do not share with a bunch of other children will be nice. My children are already benefitting from having their own space (they had to share a room in the cottage that we worked at and had to share the living space with 6 to 8 other children).

But, that is not the point.

What I want to get at this morning is this.

Spend time with your children. Work hard to create a space that is healthy for them to be in and then live in that space with them. Build them up and encourage their growth. Create that wealth of memories that you will all be able to go back to over time.

Life is Strange. Live it Well.
