Bumming on a Lazy Day

The sun made no effort whatsoever to grace us with its presence today. It’s not super cold but it is definitely chilly. It’s not raining out but the ground is wet and muddy. YUCK! Of course, it should not surprise you that I feel this way about a day like today. I have, on a handful of occasions now, documented how I feel about this kind of weather. I am so over winter.

However, on a day like today, there are still unlimited amounts of ways to pass the time besides staring out the window and complaining.

Case in point….

Highland, IL (which is where we now live) has an excellent rec center that we recently purchased a family membership for. On a day like today, that is the place to be. So, while Elisa was out running errands, the kids and I shot on over to the Korte Rec Center for an hour or so of indoor pool time.

I swam with the kids for about thirty minutes. Eventually, being climbed over constantly by both of them wore me down and I had to get out. While they continued to swim, I made my way over to the hot tub for about 15 minutes of pure relaxation. At one point, the bubbles in the hot tub turned off. I wanted to get up and turn them back on but I was more interested in not moving by then.

A large man made his way over towards the hot tub and pushed the button that caused the bubbles to come back. I expected that he was doing this in preparation for his own hot tub experience. However, he stared at the water for a moment (not seeming to notice my presence there at all) and then turned and walked away.

Okay….

Thanks for the help there buddy.

Anyways, I’m gonna be heading back to work in a few hours. For those who have been asking, here is a video of what we do at US Steel.

I’m on overnights this week which means that I won’t see much of my family with my weird sleeping schedule. It was nice to get to spend a little bit of time with them this afternoon, regardless of the weather.

Life is Strange. Live it Well.
