Do you ever try to make plans for something and then have to throw those plans out because life gets in the way? You know what I mean, right? You attempt to make a budget but then your school loan payment goes up by 800% in one month. You try to commit to doing something only to realize that you don’t actually have the time available for it.
This is pretty common, I think.
I mean, I hear people comment on their lives all the time in these regards. They feel like they can never really get going because life is constantly changing on them. This brings us to a question that I think everyone wrestles with.
Should I plan ahead for the things that I want to accomplish? Or, should I just roll with the punches and take care of what I have control over?
As easy as it is to simply abandon any future plans, I think it’s important to look ahead. I mean, sure, life is going to make changes on you. That is in the cards for all of us. It can be frustrating to feel like you are constantly going back to square one. However, life needs direction. A ship can never sail without a captain. Our future goals serve that position in our life. They keep us moving forward.
Just be aware that any plan that you set before you is always going to be subject to change. There is always that possibility that, on any given day, you are going to have to re-evaluate things. It’s okay. Just stop and take a breath. Calm down a bit. Some times, only slight changes to your plan are required. Maybe you just have to save a little more money or change your budget to fit something else in. Some times, huge changes might be necessary. Perhaps a career change is before you.
Regardless, having a life goal is always going to benefit you more than having no plan at all.
Life is Strange. Live it Well.
